Mental Health, Religion, Morality, Social Change, Evolutionary Mismatch

B.A. Columbia University

I study how features of contemporary industrialized societies, in contrast to our hunter‑gatherer past, shape young people’s social worlds, coming‑of‑age experiences, and mental health, with an eye toward improving how we support adolescents and young adults today. Relatedly and more broadly, I explore meaning-making and moral behavior through a cultural evolutionary lens. Before graduate school, I received my BA from Columbia University and worked as a research coordinator in the UCLA Department of Psychology.
