Our post-doc Anke Becker will give a presentation on her ongoing work on pastoralism and female status. On the one hand, she will explore to what extent pastoralism is conducive to and associated with low female status in pre-industrial societies. On the other hand, she will test to what extent contemporary outcomes are associated with pastoralist ancestry.
