Samuel Walmsley

I am interested in the evolution of cognition and culture across species. Most recently I have focused on vocal behaviour in dolphins and narwhals, looking to understand the size and functions of their communicative repertoires. My current aim is to use computational models to generate predictions regarding the evolution of large brains and the transmission of adaptive knowledge.
